We've all seen the photos of celebs sporting their favourite waist cincher and looking drop dead gorgeous haven't we? Take a look at Kim and Khloe Kardashian's twitter accounts and you'll see that those hour-glass ladies are massive fans of the waist cincher. And who wouldn't be? They give everyone, no matter what your natural shape, a much more defined waist and gorgeous curves. And while we will review the best waist cinchers on the market in this article; a word of warning: Wearing a waist cincher on big night out to really feel confident about your look is very different to waist training. This isn't something that, despite numerous celebs practising, is to be recommended. More on this later!
Each of these waist cincher is a great product for giving you gorgeous curves, comes in a range of sizes to suit all and is subtle to wear under your outfit.

We all come in different shapes and sizes, but with a waist cincher you can feel more confident in what you wear.
You might notice that on our list of why to buy a waist cincher, you don't see anything about weight loss, or long term waist training. You won't lose any weight from wearing a waist cincher. It won't burn calories for you and it won't stop you eating. Equally, waist training isn't something that is recommended by doctors. Waist cinchers are brilliant for giving you a great look occasionally. We'll discuss later in more detail about the no-no's of waist cinchers. They're great when you use them right!
Above all else, remember your body shape! There is no point buying a body cincher made for petite women if you are 6ft tall! And equally this works the other way around.

Remember also to read and re-read, measure and re-measure before purchasing. A cincher that's too small or too big will be no use at all to you.
We've mentioned this already, and as promised we couldn't write a review of waist cinchers without touching on this. Waist Training at the Waist Cincher.
A lot of our reviewers for this product are mums of young children, so trust us, we know that losing weight can be a real struggle. And often no fun at all. Counting calories, reading ingredients on food packages, exercising (when you have the time and energy, which can be a real struggle) are all pre-requisites to weight loss. And let's be honest, the idea of just buying a product that you wear and thereby lose weight really does appeal. A lot.
But waist training with a waist cincher is not the answer. When used in this way, the idea is to cinch your hips, core and back for long periods every day so that eventually your body molds itself into a slimmer figure. And many celebs would have us believe it is. So the question isn't "does it work?" the question is "should I do it?" And the answer, is probably, "No".
Squishing your lungs and ribs will, unsurprisingly, make it more than a little difficult to breathe. People used to pass out in the middle ages wearing these things all day. And this is still happening today. You would be crushing your lungs and bruising (or worse) your ribs.
Add to this, does it actually reduce fat? How can moving fat make it go away? Well, it can't. All you're doing is pushing your tummy fat in. You're not making it go away. It will come back out when you stop wearing the cincher. We absolutely love the waist cincher as an occasional part of our wardrobe; like the push up bra. But we don't advocate wearing it every day and certainly do not recommend using a waist cincher for waist training.
In conducting this review, we considered only using the waist cincher for occasional wear (NOT waist training), and therefore considered appearance under clothes, comfort, effect on waist (we wanted to achieve a smooth, hourglass look).
Despite the name, we loved this product. Great value, has a long torso so our reviewers found this to work really well at avoiding muffin-top and very flexible due to strapless design.
This was really quite comfortable considering its purpose it to cinch your waist in! That and the fact that the results were fab, giving all of us a smaller waist with no muffin-top made this number 1.
We'd like to see this product in a standard length for more petite women.
This is brilliant choice for anyone who doesn't mind the fact that it's a vest style. If you don't, we'd recommend this product for you. The inability to wear strapless or thin strapped vest is the only downside to this cincher. It gives great results, fabulous range of sizing and is supremely comfortable.
It is really great at everything as long as you don't want to wear a strapless top. Our larger ladies who reviewed this product loved it. A great range of sizes up the top end and a very comfortable cinch achieved with the rubber and cotton combination rather than boning. Brilliant cincher.
I'm not so sure you'd get the same product performance if it were strapless. But if you could, this would be a great improvement.
Another brilliantly comfortable, under the bra waist cincher. This time the product is latex covered in cotton. Again strapless, this product is a real looker. It is made of strong elasticity mesh and black lace. Definitely our favourite to look at! The boning means that the cinch is great but we found not quite a comfortable as the top 2 in the range. Only just though.
A great looking cincher that does a great job. Offers a very firm compression thanks to the mix of latex and boned bodice. Flexible under the bra strapless design.
The spiral steel bones we found to be slightly less comfortable especially when sitting.
Make sure you measure once, then twice and then again. It is vital that you get the right size for you. Hopefully our guide will help with this. All of the waist cinchers in our top three were brilliant. But the best of the bunch was definitely the LMB Waist Trainer Corset. It really did give a great shape with comfort and is flexible in style to wear with any item of clothing. It definitely has our recommendation!
